Choosing the right PA System for your needs is easy

There are two versions of Ready2Talk PA systems, the PA 4 Portable and the PA 4. They have exactly the same performance and durability with the only difference being, how you connect them to your stereo.

When it comes to choosing the right PA system for your needs there are only a few quick questions to ask yourself;

Does my factory or aftermarket stereo have a front 3.5mm AUX input? (almost all stereos these days do)
Does my aftermarket stereo have a rear AUX input?
Is my stereo older and doesn't have any AUX input at all?
Do I have a specialty vehicle that isn't a van or a bus?
Which microphone should I order?

Does my factory or aftermarket stereo have a front 3.5mm AUX input?

If your stereo has a front 3.5mm AUX input socket then the iPA Portable is the way to go. Plug into your stereos AUX input and cigar lighter for power, put on the headset and start talking. It's that easy!

Does my aftermarket stereo have a rear AUX input?

Some aftermarket stereos offer a rear AUX input, generally on the fancier units with DVD players. If your stereo has a rear AUX input then use the PA 4 which offers cleaner looking installation. If you want a really custom look then add the PA 4 RMK (remote mount kit) and hide your PA 4 altogether.

Is my stereo older and doesn't have any AUX input at all? (you have a few options)

Maybe it's time to replace your old stereo with a new one. The general cost from your local stereo store will be $100 to $150. It will definitely improve the sound quality and is by far the simplest and easiest way to go. If you have a Mercedes Sprinter van then ask your dealer to install the iPod / AUX input option for about the same dollars.

Is your van a bit older, it might be going out to pasture fairly soon and you don't really want to invest any more money into it? That's okay... buy our Portable FM Transmitter which will update any stereo with an AUX input. (we do suggest the new stereo option as there isn't a big price difference)

Does your stereo is a cassette player and you have a cassette adaptor kicking around? This option might be a bit old school but the PA 4 Portable will work really well with your adaptor, just let us know so we can add a plug adaptor.

Do I have a specialty vehicle that isn't a van or bus?

No problem, we have an answer for that too. After 25 years, we have seen and done pretty much every kind of vehicles from vans, busses, snow cats, Jeeps, 4 x 4's, boat, antique cars, trolleys and even horse drawn carriages. Which microphone should I order?

You can either use a handheld mic or a headset, but by far the most popular in the HS 20M headset. Headsets are comfortable, durable and offer a better level of performance that a hand mic. Also, your guests will appreciate that both your hands are on the wheel and your eyes are on the road.

If you are wondering about wireless options, we have seen and supplied some wireless options borrowed from the entertainment industry. They work okay... but generally have a headset with a wire to a battery operated body pack and eat a 9V battery per day of operation. Is that really wireless? We are designing a truly wireless Bluetooth option! Stay tuned.
